Biography

When it comes to my alter-ego, The RaRity,

I wish to remain as low key as possible about my personal life.

Is it because I lack confidence

And am scared of putting myself out in the public eye?

No, that is not the case at all..

The reason being is that I want “The RaRity” to be strictly about my music

and my message.

I also enjoy the idea of starting my career as an enigmatic

mysterious mythical figure (haha)

The further I progress in my music career the higher the probability is

that I will reveal more about myself from a personal standpoint.

For those still reading and curious about the ‘real me,’ I will disclose some personal information. My birth-name is Ramon and the first initial of my last name is “R.”  Hints as to why I spell “The RaRity” with 2 capital R’s (mindblown I know lol). I'm also the fourth generation 'Ramon' so you'll see the suffix "IV"

after my initials (RRIV) around my website.

I’m an 80’s baby born in 1986 and obviously raised in 'The 90’s'. You can do the math as to how old I am ;-) I was born in Chicago, IL and moved to Houston, TX when I was 8 years old. I grew up a fan of all music genres, but as I entered my teens I became inspired by Hip-Hop music above everything else. When I was in high-school Houston Hip-Hop had the spotlight on itself and there were a number of artist who inspired me. I won’t name them, but again you can do the math as to when I was in high school, and see what artists names garnered attention at that time, and I guarantee I listened to them.

I’ve always had an affinity for music, but didn’t start freestyling and writing lyrics Until I was about 18 or 19 years old (yes a late bloomer I know)

I dabbled in recording in my early 20's but was never really focused on it or took it too seriously. There’s a litany of reasons as to why I wasn’t focused, but the gist of it is I was too caught up with working, school, partying, and my addictions.

Even with everything going on in my life I still somehow managed to graduate from college with my Bachelors degree in Psychology from the

University of Houston!! (Whose House?)!!

I worked for a few years at a residential treatment facility as a ‘Mental Health Technician’ before I decided to go back to school and obtain my Master’s degree in Social Work (again from UH at the GCSW)!!

I currently work in mental health and have a true love and passion for the field.

I have a unique job where I help people in crisis which definitely keeps me on my toes, and is fulfilling in ways most jobs aren’t.

The last couple years I've had this itch for music

which wasn’t being scratched at my 'day job.'

Since my early 20's I've been writing lyrics which is something I almost do seamlessly. Recording music, on the other hand, is a practice that takes much more time, effort, and energy for me.

In 2016 I made a concerted effort to focus more on the recording aspect of my music. In that year I decided to purchase my own website, TheRaRity.com, and am forever grateful I made the decision to do so!

Like I said at the top, I’m trying to not give away too much information about the ‘real me,’ but I think now you have a general idea of where I’m coming from. The best source of information to learn about me will be through my music which will always be available at TheRaRity.com
